Baukultur und Stadtidentität werden durch die Vergangenheit geprägt, aber das bedeutet nicht, dass sie nur in dieser existieren. Beide stehen in einem ständigen Dialog mit der Gegenwart - dem aktuellen Zeitgeist, den aktuellen Herausforderungen und dem aktuellen Selbstbild einer Gesellschaft Stadtidentität existiert nicht nur in der baulichen Sphäre.
Man muss den Ort und die Bewohner erleben, um die dortige Stadtidentität zu verstehen. Die Stadtidentität eines Ortes weicht von der eines anderen Ortes ab. Doch trotz dieser Unterschiedlichkeit haben Stadtidentitäten eben die Gemeinsamkeit ihrer Entstehung.
Die lokale Baukultur integriert dabei die Stadtidentität Sie schließt aber darüber hinaus weitere bauliche Leistung mit ein, die nicht primär als zur Stadtidentität zugehörig empfunden werden. Baukultur ist vergangene Zukunft - sie ist das Produkt aus vergangenen Leistung, die in der Gegenwart neu bewertet werden, um daraus Orientierungshilfen für die Zukunft zu schaffen.

the box is inspired by the munich museum glyptothek. The intention behind developing the box was to create a stool which is efficient, storable and pleasantly portable. the box is inspired by the rectangular columns on which the museums exhibits are presented, thus blending into its environment. It is holding back while still being present. The design concept is also open to variations in size and function.
The unfolding mechanism is straightforward and can be done with one gesture.

all american breakfast is a new interpretation of native American totem poles, like these aab is telling a story. Due to its pop-art aesthetic we decided focus on one of the most ubiquitous rituals of mankind, the breakfast. The object consist of abstractions of breakfast items (such as a pancake / bacon / toast etc.), added to a rectangular column. Woven into the object are hidden compartments, only to be discovered by closer examination. Thus changing not only the visual appearance of the object but also its purpose and the story it's telling.
This piece is informed by Roy Lichtensteins painting, Wallpaper with blue Floor. We imagined the setting to be of the early 90s inside a NYC loft. A young, successful and popular bachelor purchased this work of art for his spacious loft. This object would be the centerpiece of any party.
